Baptism. What is needed for the service?

  • a wax candle – a symbol and testimony of the Light of Christ, which envelops the newly baptised;
  • a white cloth – in which the child is received by the godparent when removed from the baptismal water
  • a ribbon (baptismal ribbon);
  • a blanket and a white towel – in which the child will be wrapped after the baptism
  • another towel – for the ritual wiping of the priest’s hands after immersing the baby;
  • a bottle of olive oil – a symbol of God’s mercy and the anointing of grace;
  • a baptismal cross – a testimony of the child’s faith;
  • the child’s birth certificate.
